In 2025 we celebrated 10 years of our ACTIVATE programming! The evening was a true full-circle moment for so many arts advocates and ACTIVATE alumni. We saw reunions, new connections, and important conversations taking place, and it reinvigorated us as we further arts advocacy and leadership efforts in LA County. Our alumni are a testament of the vital support we strive to provide for artists and creative workers across the region – thank you to everyone who attended and made the celebration possible.

The History of Activate
Launched in October 2014, ACTIVATE is Arts for LA’s suite of advocacy training and leadership development programs. For ten years, AFLA has empowered individuals with the skills, knowledge, and an expanded network to effect change in their communities, the greater Los Angeles arts and culture sector, and most importantly, themselves–all free of charge.
